Stuart Broad is a tall fast bowler who plays his county cricket for Nottinghamshire having moved from Leicestershire in 2007. Son of former England opener Chris Broad, he has played for England in all three international formats of the game before his 22nd birthday.
He made his one-day debut in the summer of 2006 in a rain-interrupted game against Pakistan. He made 8 not out with the bat before taking 1 for 14 in 3 overs. He remained in the side for the rest of the series, taking 5 wickets in all, with a best of 3-57 coming at The Rose Bowl.
He remains on the fringes of England selection despite his youth; he was selected for the Twenty20 World Cup, where he was smashed for six sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh, before going to Sri Lanka and playing a big role in England's landmark one-day series victory. He returned to Sri Lanka, making his Test debut in Colombo, although in difficult conditions, took just the one wicket in a drawn game.
